Read on to learn some of our go-to tips for caring for dry winter hair:

How to Combat Dry Winter Hair

1. Use a humidifier.

A humidifier not only works wonders for your skin but can help you prevent dry hair. The heaters used in your home and even in the workplace draw all of the moisture, leaving you with super dry, brittle strands. A humidifier adds moisture back into the air, which, in the right amounts, is super beneficial to your skin and hair. When choosing the right humidifier, opt for a humidifier that has both cool and warm temperatures. This way you can also use it during the warmer months when the air conditioning takes the moisture out of the air!

2. Steam your hair.

Deep conditioning is one thing, but when your hair is in need of extreme moisture, take it one step further. For at-home steaming, you can purchase a hair steamer or you can create your own at home with the use of a shower cap. After applying your conditioner or deep conditioner of your choice, cover your hair with a shower cap to help trap all of the moisture and steam from the shower in your hair. Leave your cap on for about five to ten minutes then rinse thoroughly. For this process, we recommend using a hair mask like Dove Anti-Frizz Oil Therapy Hair Mask which helps eliminate and control frizz while leaving your hair soft and manageable.

3. Take advantage of leave-in conditioners.

During the colder months, leave-in conditioners are crucial for those that suffer from dry winter hair. Use a leave-in conditioner, like Love Beauty and Planet Smooth and Serene Argan Oil & Lavender Leave-In Smoothie Cream to help add a dose of moisture into your strands Plus, Argan oil helps add shine, so say goodbye to dullness and hello to lusher locks.
