The Sassy and Chic Weekend Updo You Need to Try

Create Your Messy Bun

When creating this weekend updo, we recommend starting with a deep side part and creating a midi ponytail (not low but not too high!). As you gather your hair to create the ponytail, add just a little bit of hair gel to the side with less hair and leave a large section from the other side out to pin up later. TRESemmé TRES Two Mega Firm Control Gel will give it some hold, slickness, and shine. Once your hair is in a ponytail that’s to your liking, it’s time to tease. Use a hairspray, like Bed Head by TIGI Full Of It Volume Hairspray, to tease your ponytail and the portion of hair you left out. Use bobby pins to wrap your ponytail around your elastic and create a bun. It’s okay if some pieces stick out or don’t get fully secured, it’ll add to the texture and messiness. Pin back the section of hair you left out now that it’s nice and teased.

Add Some Bling

Our fave part of this weekend updo? Finishing it with a blingy barrette. Feel free to clip this wherever you want, we like it best on the teased side, but it would look fab on the slick side of the style, too! This look is all about you and the texture you want to create, so go crazy and embrace the high fashion chaos. Finish off with shine spray, we love Bed Head by TIGI Masterpiece Shine Hairspray for the job!
